Police Evidence Building

The project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art 13,000 square-foot police evidence building designed with tilt-up panel construction. The facility was thoughtfully divided into two main areas: an office space for the processing of evidence and a secure warehouse for its storage. In the office and administration areas, the walls were reinforced with level 3 ballistic-rated materials, including fiberglass panels, and a storefront/glazing system was installed to enhance the safety and security of staff and personnel. The floors were designed for ease of maintenance, utilizing level 3 ground concrete with a high-sheen finish to ensure both durability and aesthetic appeal. Security lockers were integrated into the design to streamline the transfer of evidence from field staff to the office, facilitating coordination within the department.

The warehouse area was equipped with a fully functional walk-in cooler/freezer, which was vital for storing liquids and perishable items. For large items, the warehouse featured 12-foot storage racks, providing ample space while maintaining an organized storage system. The entire facility was monitored by a comprehensive network of security cameras to ensure constant surveillance and safety.

On the exterior, the project included the development of 4.5 acres of site work, which featured an impound yard with microwave perimeter detectors for heightened security. The perimeter of the facility was secured by high, fully grouted CMU walls, complemented by ornamental iron fencing and gates, equipped with perforated screen material to limit visibility exposure. This blend of practical design and advanced security measures ensured that the facility effectively supported the operational requirements of the Salt River Police Department while adhering to strict security standards.
