This Design-Build project, in collaboration with Bollinger Consulting Architects (BCA), was completed in two phases. Phase 1 involved the construction of two buildings: a 3,000 SF Golf Academy with an 800 SF covered patio, serving as a teaching and fitting facility for True Spec Golf, and a 1,000 SF snack shack called the Sandwich House, offering food and beverage services and golf starter functions near the driving range.
Phase 2 focused on expanding the Clubhouse, including a full parking lot replacement. During construction, operations were relocated to temporary facilities known as the Snow Village at the front of the Clubhouse. This included a Pro Shop, offices, storage, a walk-in fridge and freezer, a dining canopy with restrooms, and an owner-provided food wagon to maintain food and beverage services, allowing the Golf Course to remain fully operational for over a year while the Clubhouse was remodeled.
The remodel involved gutting the existing structure and designing a space that blends modern amenities with Pima-Maricopa cultural elements. The expansion added 5,000 SF of event space, a grand entry gallery with a custom culture wall, additional restrooms, a bridal room, and significant upgrades to the dining areas, pro shop, kitchen, and restroom and locker facilities. Additionally, 20,000 SF of outdoor patio space was created to accommodate large events and weddings. The project successfully modernized the facility while honoring the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s heritage.
