This project involved the construction of a 6,000 square-foot, single-story building made from concrete masonry and tilt-up concrete panels, along with an adjacent electrical and mechanical yard, located on an active government campus. The work encompassed a variety of construction disciplines, including concrete, masonry, electrical, mechanical, and data/communications systems. The building features a burn-in room for equipment, a large central data floor, and a future data floor. The central data floor holds 18 data cabinet racks and is conditioned by three Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) units. The Data Center is equipped with advanced mechanical systems, including CRAC units cooled by a chiller, to effectively manage the temperature and humidity levels critical for the operation of large IT infrastructure. A thorough understanding of the CRAC equipment and its ability to regulate humidity played a key role in the success of this high-tech facility.
